Easy Baked Sablefish Recipe

In this simple recipe, the sablefish is seasoned and then baked to perfection. Serve it with steamed rice and stir-fried veggies!
Total: 20 minutes
Servings: 4 fillets

Ingredients 

  • 4 fillets black cod
  • salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • nonstick cooking spray

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Coat a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place the fish in the prepared dish and season with salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, bring brown sugar, lime juice, vinegar, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, or until thick and syrupy. Spread 1 teaspoon glaze evenly over each cod filet; reserve any remaining glaze.
  • Place baking dish in oven and bake for 12 minutes, or until opaque and just cooked through. Serve with reserved glaze and garnished with mint and scallions.
