1. Macadamia’s

High in fat and low in carbs, macadamia nuts are a classic keto snack. For a 28g serving of these tree nuts, you can expect just 2 grams of net carbs, 204 calories and a generous 21 grams of fat. These nuts are most often eaten whole, but can be used to make a low-carb flour for all your baking needs.

2. Pecans

With only 3 grams of carbs and 20 grams of fat per ounce, pecans are a great option for your low-carb dietary needs. Munch on a handful of pecans for a keto-friendly snack, or incorporate them into other sweet or savory keto recipes.

3. Brazil Nuts

A single ounce of these jumbo-sized nuts contains only 1 gram of carbs and 19 grams of healthy fats. Brazil nuts are incredibly rich in antioxidants and minerals like selenium. Just be sure to enjoy them in moderation, since an excess of selenium can be detrimental to your health.

What Nuts Should I Avoid On Keto?

Cashews

Although they’re downright delicious, cashews aren’t the most keto-friendly nut option. One ounce of cashew nuts has a whopping 9 grams of net carbs and 12 grams of fat. If you’re following a low-carb diet, it’s best to keep cashews to a minimum or avoid them altogether.

Pistachios

These nuts are tasty snack, but they aren’t the best for a ketogenic diet. With 9 grams of net carbs per ounce, it’s easy for these nuts to cause you to go over your limit for the day.

Which Nuts Have The Lowest Carbs?

Pecans, Brazil nuts and macadamia nuts are the best choices for nut lovers on a low-carb diet. Brazil nuts contain a single gram of net carbs per ounce, while pecans and macadamia nuts will provide 3 grams and 2 grams, respectively.

While you can be generous with your servings of macadamia nuts and pecans, remember not to overdo it with Brazil nuts, due to the high selenium content.
