Tips for Making Sugar-Free Desserts
With some simple tips and tricks, it’s possible to make delicious sugar-free desserts that taste like the real thing! The key is to use the right ingredients to replace sugar and create a dessert with the same taste and texture. It’s the best way to satisfy your taste buds.
- Use Sweet Fruits: Both fresh or dried fruits can add natural sweetness to your desserts. For example, pineapple, bananas, dates or raisins are great options.
- Replace Sugar with Natural Sweeteners: If you are concerned about calories, you can use natural sweeteners such as stevia, erythritol, and monk fruit, or xylitol. They also have little impact on blood sugar levels.
- Adjust the Amount: When replacing sugar with natural ingredients, you’ll need to adjust the amount you use as the level of sweetness is different when you use a substitute. Follow the recipes below or taste your desserts and adjust the sweetener accordingly.
- Add Spices: Some spices such as cinnamon and vanilla extract also add sweetness to your dessert without adding sugar.
- Avoid Artificial Sweeteners: Although artificial sweeteners can be sugar-free, I don’t recommend using them as they are not healthy and often have an aftertaste.
