Bring your favorite coffee shop drink home! This copycat Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino is creamy, chocolatey, and full of marshmallow, coffee, and graham crackers flavor. Made with a few simple ingredients, it gives you all the summer refreshing taste of the Starbucks Campfire Smores Frap at the fraction of the price!

This S’mores Frapp recipe is a real deal! The bitter coffee, sweet marshmallow fluff, cocoa powder, ice and milk are blended into a rich and refreshing blended beverage.
Who doesn’t love a S’more? This frosty blended summer drink is hands down one of the best, right along with a Java Chip Frappuccino. It’s very easy to make at home, and all you need is a few simple ingredients and 10 minutes! It’s much cheaper to make your own, in addition, you can make a healthier version and adjust the sweet level according to your preference.
What is S’mores Frappuccino?
S’mores Frappuccino is a popular blended coffee drink at Starbucks. It’s described on Starbucks’ website as a blend of “Marshmallow-infused whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, a creamy blend of vanilla, coffee, milk and ice”, and “ finished off with more marshmallowy whipped cream and a graham cracker crumble. (No campfire necessary.)”
If you’ve never had S’mores Frapp before, it’s all about nostalgia, and supposed to take you back to the childhood summer nights, roasting S’mores around a campfire.
What’s in a S’mores Frappuccino Drink?
Original Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino contains ice, milk, coffee Frappuccino syrup, marshmallow whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, coffee, vanilla syrup, and Graham cracker topping.
We have recreated the flavor by using some simple and more easily accessible ingredients (see below): espresso, milk, ice, marshmallow fluff, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate sauce, heavy cream, and Graham crackers.
- Marshmallow Fluff: It’s the marshmallow-infused flavor that makes this drink so special. To re-create the taste, we use marshmallow fluff to make the marshmallow-flavored whipped cream, and we also use it in the blend.
- Heavy Cream: It has more than 30% fat and is the best choice for making whipped cream.
- Icing Sugar: It’s important to sift your icing sugar before mixing with the heavy cream to avoid lumps.
- Coffee: I recommend using espresso for the strong flavor so that the coffee flavor won’t be hidden away. If you don’t have espresso, you can use brewed coffee or instant coffee mix (make sure to dilute with a little water so that it’s very concentrated). Chill your coffee before making this recipe.
- Milk: Use whole milk for a creamier flavor. For a healthier version, you can use nonfat milk or almond milk.
- Cocoa Powder: Use unsweetened cocoa powder so that you can control the sweet level.
- Sugar: Regular granulated sugar works fine. You can also substitute simple syrup.
- Ice: It may seem not important, but the amount of ice can change the whole experience. Adding more ice will make the Frappuccino thicker (but not creamier).
- Chocolate Sauce: The original recipe calls for milk chocolate sauce, but I find regular chocolate sauce or syrup works fine.
- Graham Cracker: Simply place 2 pieces of Graham cracker sheets in a zip-top bag, and crash with a rolling pin to make Graham cracker crumbs.
Homemade Marshmallow-infused Whipped Cream
Marshmallow-infused whipped cream not only adds the yumminess of marshmallow flavor to the whipped cream, but also stabilizes the whipped cream and helps to hold the shape for a long time. I used it as the bottom layer as well as the topping for this S’mores Frappuccino recipe.
To make it, you’ll need 3 ingredients: heavy cream, icing sugar, and marshmallow fluff. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, and add the icing sugar and beat until combined. Then add marshmallow fluff and beat until stiff peaks form.
That’s it!
Milk Chocolate Sauce
The original Starbucks’ recipe calls for milk chocolate sauce. To save time, use storebought chocolate sauce or syrup that you have on hand. The difference is so subtle as you’ll only need very small amount of the chocolate sauce for this recipe. If you want to make your own milk chocolate sauce, here is what you need:
- 2 oz milk chocolate (finely chopped)
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
You’ll need to bring the heavy cream to boil, and remove from heat. Add in the finely chopped milk chocolate and mix well. Let the sauce cool down to room temperature before using it.
How to Make S’mores Frappuccino at Home
- Prepare your espresso and let it chill in the refrigerator.
- Make marshmallow-infused whipped cream as mentioned above.
- Add ice, milk, and marshmallow fluff into a blender. Secure the lid and blend on low for about 30 seconds.
- Add espresso, cocoa powder, and sugar. Blend on low speed for another 20 seconds, and then beat on a max speed for about 10 seconds or until the mixture is evenly smooth.
- Add about 2 tablespoons of the marshmallow-infused whipped cream to the bottom of each glass.
- Drizzle with chocolate sauce.
- Pour the coffee mixture on top.
- Top with more marshmallow-infused whipped cream and Graham cracker crumble.
You can also garnish with a piece of Graham cracker. Serve and enjoy immediately!
Important Tips:
- Chill your espresso until it’s very cold before making the drink.
- You can start with slightly less ice, which will produce a thinner drink. You can always add more to make it thicker.
- The color of your drink depends on the color of the coffee you use. So use darker coffee if you prefer a darker look.
- Use less sugar if you’d like to reduce the sweet level. You can add more sugar to the drink later.
- Make sure to sift your icing sugar to avoid lumps in the whipped cream.
How Do I Order a S’mores Frappuccino at Starbucks?
Now S’mores Frappuccino is back and you don’t have to use the secret menu. As pretty much every drink, you can customize this drink to your preference.
Besides size, here are some other options (you might need to pay more):
- Swap out different types of milk.
- Ask for more or less pumps of syrup (you can choose from vanilla, caramel, or sugar-free syrup).
- More or less whipped cream.
- If you want less caffeine, order half-caf or decaf (with no caffeine).
Blender Recommendations
- Vitamix is my favorite blender. If you use your blender often, it’s worth investing into a good one.
- A regular blender such as this works well too. It’s not as fast as a high-powered bender, but it’s a good option for the price.
