Yes, you can substitute juice for water when making jello candy. The juice you choose is totally up to you. You can even use real fruit juice without adding any artificial colors. Due to the amount of natural fruit sugar in the juice, you can reduce the amount of the sweetener. This will also result in a more intense color and flavor.

How do you make jello gummy fruity snack from scratch?

  • Mix together grape juice, Gelatine, and honey in a sauce pan. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until the Gelatine is completely dissolved.
  • Get the silicone gummy bear molds ready. Then using a dropper or baster (which comes with the mold), add the mixture to the molds.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Make sure they’re firm before you unmold them.

That’s it! So easy for a perfect snack!

Tips for making jello candies

  • Set up your molds for filling ahead of the time. After the Gelatine mixture is ready, you’ll need to move quickly as it can get thicker when cooling down.  
  • Fill in each mold to the top, so that you’ll have an even surface for your jello candies. If there are any bubbles, pop with a toothpick.
  • You can replace the juice with other flavors such as orange, grapefruit, strawberries, raspberries. You can also use different shapes of molds like worms, fish, or Legos.

Fruit Juice Jello Candy Gummy Snack

One of my favorite jello candy recipes, this delicious fruit juice jello candy gummy snack is so easy to make with only 3 ingredients. You can customize with different fruit juice like grape, strawberry, apple, pineapple, and raspberry. Make them into different shapes such as bear, fish, worms with silicon molds.
Prep: 15 minutes
Chilling Time: 2 hours
Total: 2 hours 15 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup grape juice, (or other fruit juice of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons Gelatin
  • honey to taste

Instructions 

  • Mix together grape juice, Gelatine, and honey in a sauce pan over medium-low heat.
  • Stir until Gelatine is completely dissolved.
  • Place the gummy bear molds on a flat surface, and then using a dropper or baster (which comes with the mold), add the mixture to the molds. Slowly fill each cup to the top.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Make sure they’re firm before you unmold them.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 7-10 days.
