How to Make Hawaiian Roll Ham Sliders

  • Slice the rolls in half. Place the bottom slab of rolls in the prepared pan. Add the sliced ham on the rolls. Then add a layer of cheese. Add the top slab of the rolls; set aside.
  • In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, add the butter and heat it on high for about one minute until melted.
  • Add the mustard, poppy seeds, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Whisk until combined.
  • Slowly pour the butter mixture over the rolls and use a spatula to spread the mixture all over the tops. Some of the butter will pool at the bottom of the rolls.
  • Cover the pan with foil and let the rolls rest at room temp for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F covered for about 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Uncover the pan and bake for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown. Slice the rolls into individual sliders and serve and enjoy

Tips for the Best Hawaiian Roll Sliders

  • If you plan to make hot ham and cheese sliders in advance, brush the rolls with butter before putting them in the oven. This will ensure that the rolls don’t become soggy.
  • To avoid sticking, spray the baking dish with oil.
  • Cover the sliders with foil so they don’t get too brown.

What Cheese Goes On Ham Sliders?

The recipe uses Swiss cheese but these sliders would also be delicious with cheddar, Gruyere, or your favorite cheese.

Can I Make Them Ahead of Time?

Yes, you can prepare the sliders in advance. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and place the sliders in the fridge. You’ll want to wait to brush them with butter until you’re ready to put them in the oven. This will ensure that the tops won’t become soggy.

Can I Freeze the Sliders?

Yes, sliders can be frozen however they’re best served fresh from the oven.
