    • cardamom pods
    • water
    • cloves
    • fresh ginger root
    • black tea bags
    • sugar

    How to Make Cardamom Tea

    • In a tea pot or small saucepan,  add the water, cardamom, cloves and ginger slices. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
    • Add the black tea and remove from the heat. Stir and cover to steep to your liking.
    • Strain into cups and serve with sliced lemon. Sweeten with honey if desired or add a splash of milk.

    Tips and Tricks

    • It’s best to use filtered water when making tea for the best flavor.
    • For additional flavor, add some black peppercorns or a cinnamon stick.
    • Pressing and breaking the cardamom pods will increase the flavor. 
    • Let the tea brew for about 1 minute and then taste. Depending on the freshness of the cardamom and your preferences, you may want to let the tea brew longer for a stronger flavor.
