(Note: Full recipe is at the bottom of the post)
How to Make Strawberry Jello
- Puree the strawberries, water, honey, and lemon juice in a blender until smooth.
- Remove 1/4 cup of the puree and place it in a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin over the puree and mix until combined. Set aside to let the gelatin bloom.
- Pour the remaining puree into a small pot and heat over medium-high heat. Remove it from the stove when the puree is hot but not yet boiling. Add the bloomed gelatin mixture immediately and whisk well until combined. If you choose to add food coloring, add a few drops at this point and stir.
- Divide the jello mixture between 3-4 small glass jars. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until the strawberry jello has set.
Is Strawberry Gelatin The Same As Strawberry Jello?
No. Jello or Jell-O is the brand name of processed, powdered, fruit-flavored gelatin. Gelatin comes from collagen and is used to make jello. It’s a colorless and flavorless gelling agent.
How To Serve Strawberry Jello
Jello is a treat loved by adults and children alike. It can be enjoyed on its own, topped with whipped cream, or served with fresh fruit.
How To Store Strawberry Jello
Place leftover jello in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Can You Freeze Jello?
No. Jello breaks down when frozen so freezing is not recommended.
