Frequently Asked Questions

Should You Boil Green Beans Before Sauteing?

Yes! This is because blanching them before sauteing them will help the green beans get that extra crispiness and flavor that they are missing.

How to Pre Boil Green Beans

To prepare your green beans, boil them for about 3 minutes and then throw them into an ice-bath. Dry them off by patting them with paper towels and store in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container. Take them out of the fridge and let sit for about 15 minutes before sauteeing.

Can I Cook Green Beans Without Blanching?

Yes, you can always throw beans in a pan and cook them from scratch without blanching first. However, we prefer the texture and color you get from blanching in boiling water.

Can I Use Frozen Beans for This Recipe?

Yes! Plus, there’s no need to blanch them! Simply thaw them out and put them right onto the pan to saute.
