Ingredients You’ll Need

  • salmon filets
  • lemon pepper seasoning
  • unsalted butter
  • chopped parsley

How to Microwave Salmon

  • Sprinkle the salmon with lemon pepper seasoning, salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Place them on a microwave-safe plate. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Add one tablespoon of butter on top of each filet.
  • Cover the plate and microwave for about 2 minutes (cook 1 minute per filet)
  • Check the doneness of the salmon with an instant-read thermometer. As soon as it reaches 130–140°F, the salmon is safe to eat. Make sure not to overcook your salmon.

Tips and Tricks

  • If your lemon pepper seasoning has enough salt, you don’t have to add more salt to your salmon.
  • If you’re cooking 1 filet at a time, cook the salmon for only 1 minute and add a bit more time if needed. 
  • Avoid overcooking the salmon, otherwise it can become quite chewy.
