What’s The Difference Between Mexican Crema And Sour Cream?

Mexican crema is higher in fat than sour cream and isn’t as sour or acidic. It’s also thinner and doesn’t curdle when added to hot dishes, unlike sour cream.

What’s The Best Substitute For Mexican Crema?

Crème fraîche is the best substitute for Mexican crema. It isn’t as thin but can be used to replace Mexican crema in most dishes.

How To Serve Mexican Crema

Mexican Crema can be used as a topping for dishes like burritos, enchiladas, nachos, and tacos. It can also be stirred into soups and stews. Enjoy it with spicy dishes to temper some of the heat.

Can You Freeze Mexican Crema?

No. Because Mexican crema tends to separate after defrosting, freezing is not recommended.
