Southern Sweet Potato Pie

Easy Cajun Dessert Sweet Potato Pie Recipe

Is there anything more southern than sweet potato pie? This traditional dessert takes just 10 minutes of prep time followed by an hour in the oven. Serve it with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream!
Servings: 8

Ingredients 

  • 3 Medium sweet potatoes, Cooked
  • ¾ cup Butter
  • cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 can Evaporated milk, 14oz
  • 2 Frozen 9-inch pie shells

Instructions 

  • Mash the cooked sweet potatoes in a bowl, then stir in the butter.
  • Combine sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg in a mixing bowl. Mix with mashed sweet potatoes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and add the milk.
  • Stir the egg mixture into the sweet potato mixture.
  • Pour into pie shells and bake at 400 F degrees for about 45 minutes.
