How To Cook Green Lentils

Servings: 5 servings

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup green lentils
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small piece kombu

Instructions 

  • Rinse the lentils in a fine mesh sieve under running water. Remove any small stones or bad lentils.
  • Place the lentils, water, bay leaf and kombu into a pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a very low simmer. Cover the pot with a lid and cook for 20-30 minutes until the lentils are tender but not mushy.
  • Drain well, remove the bay leaf and kombu and serve.
