Tips And Tricks

  • To save time, you can use two pans so that you can cook the sausage and vegetables at the same time.
  • You can use any type of sausage. I use Italian sausage in this recipe. For a smokey flavor, you can use smoked sausage like kielbasa or chorizo.
  • This recipe can be easily customized by adding your favorite vegetables. Some other options include carrots, mushrooms, green peas, and zucchini.
  • This dish can be vegetarian-friendly by omitting the sausage.

What Kind of Noodles Should I Use

We recommend using fresh egg noodles for the best result, but you can substitute any type of noodles. Dried noodles work as well. Spaghetti, fettuccine, or fusilli are good substitutes.

What Kind of Cabbage is Best

There are many different types of cabbage, and we recommend using Chinese cabbage for this recipe. Avoid napa cabbage and bok choy as they don’t have a crispy texture.

How to Serve Cabbage and Noodles

This dish can be enjoyed on its own or served alongside veggies like zucchini, asparagus, green beans, or mushrooms.

Crisp garlic bread, crusty Italian bread, or a fresh green salad would also pair well with cabbage and noodles.

How To Store Cabbage And Noodles

Leftovers should be cooled to room temperature, transferred to an airtight container, and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

How To Reheat Cabbage And Noodles

Place the leftovers in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir often until hot. If desired, add a splash of stock or a pat of butter.

Cabbage and noodles can also be reheated in the microwave at reduced power until hot.
