What is Keto?

The ketogenic diet is a dietary approach characterized by a high-fat, moderate-protein, and very low-carbohydrate intake. While carbohydrates are typically the body’s preferred energy source, adhering to a strict ketogenic diet limits carbohydrate intake to 5-10% of total energy intake. This restriction prompts the body to enter a metabolic state called ketosis.

Ketosis occurs when the body breaks down stored fat into ketone bodies for energy, instead of relying on glucose from carbohydrates. Once ketosis is reached, the majority of the body’s cells will utilize ketone bodies for energy until carbohydrate consumption resumes.

Are Chicken Wings Keto-Friendly?

Yes, chicken wings are compatible with the ketogenic diet due to their low carb count. Additionally, chicken wings are an excellent source of low-fat protein.

However, it’s crucial to pay attention to the ingredients when cooking the wings since the addition of sauces and coatings may substantially raise the carb content of the dish.
