Ingredients

  • 16- ounce loaf white sourdough bread unsliced
  • 1 stick unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic pressed or grated with a Microplane
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley minced
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • kosher salt and fresh black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and cut the loaf in half lengthwise.
  • In a small bowl, mix the butter, fresh garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, parsley, and Parmesan. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Spread the butter mixture over each half of the loaf. Lightly wrap each half in foil and place on a baking sheet cut side up.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, remove the foil, and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes or until the bread is lightly toasted and golden around the edges. The middle of the bread should be slightly dried out but still soft and not wet. If you like extra crispy garlic bread, place the bread under the broiler for 30-45 seconds. Watch it carefully to ensure it doesn’t burn.
  • Transfer the garlic bread to a cutting board and cut it into 1-inch thick slices.
  • Serve, and enjoy!
