Nashville hot sauce is rich, thick, and full of flavor. It’s seen a resurgence since the introduction of KFC Nashville Hot Chicken, but this hot sauce has been around for a long, long time.

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Whisk in the cayenne pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
Remove from the heat once the mixture bubbles slightly. A soupy consistency is normal.
Cool and serve.
- Shake or stir before using as the sauce will separate after standing.
- Nashville hot sauce that uses regular butter can be stored in the fridge for up to one month or up to three months when clarified butter is used. Freeze in an airtight container for up to three months.
