- water
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning plus more for garnish
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 pound snow crab legs
- 1 lemon cut into wedges
Fill a large pot halfway with water and bring it to a boil. Add the salt and Old Bay seasoning and continue to boil.
Place the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. After about 1 minute the butter should begin to foam. Remove from the heat and let it stand for 5 minutes. Use a spoon to remove the milk solids floating on top. Discard the solids and pour the clarified butter into a small bowl. Set aside.
Add the crab legs to the boiling water and reduce the heat to medium. Simmer for 5 to 6 minutes until fragrant.
Transfer the crab legs to a plate and serve sprinkled with additional Old Bay, lemon wedges, and clarified butter.
