Indian Butter Chicken

Easy Indian Dinner Butter Chicken Recipe

The flavors of butter chicken are irresistible. This recipe only takes 30 minutes and would be wonderful served with steamed rice and naan bread!

Total: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients 

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion , diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 2-3 cloves garlic finely minced or crushed
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions 

  • Add oil and butter to a large skillet over medium saucepan.
  • Once the butter is melt, add onions and cook until they are lightly brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add ginger and garlic, stirring for about 1 minute.
  • Add chicken, tomato paste, and seasonings to the skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  • Stirring occasionally until the sauce has thickened. Serve over rice or with naan.
