How to Make Heavy Cream Pasta Sauce
- Heat the heavy cream and butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat until the butter is melted.
- Add the freshly grated parmesan cheese to the sauce a few tablespoons at a time, stirring well between each addition so that the cheese melts evenly. Be careful not to add the cheese too quickly to ensure that it fully melts.
- When all of the cheese has been added and is melted, stir in the pepper and garlic, stirring over low heat for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and serve over your favorite pasta.
Tips and Tricks
- Add the heavy cream slowly. It will ensure that the sauce is thoroughly rich and creamy.
- Use the best quality of parmesan cheese you can find. Freshly grated is our recommendation.
- Add the ingredients slowly over low heat. Melted cheese can separate if the heat is too high. You can add the parmesan cheese to the sauce with the heat off.
