What Are Churro Chips?
Churro chips are a thinner, crispier version of the popular Latin American treat. Tortillas are generously buttered, cut into bite-sized pieces, and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Within ten minutes, the chips are baked to perfection, and you’ve got a bowl of your new favorite snack. Mexican churro chips make a tasty treat on their own but are even more addictive with chocolate sauce.
What Are Churro Chips Made Of?
The ingredient list for churro chips couldn’t be simpler. You’ll need flour tortillas, butter, cinnamon and sugar. Granulated sugar is best for this recipe, but don’t be afraid to use brown sugar if that’s what you have. For a vegan-friendly version, butter can be substituted with margarine or another non-dairy spread.
Corn tortillas are more nutritious than flour tortillas and will produce a more textured chip. You can also opt for naan or pita bread instead of tortillas.
